As an artist, I think one of the greatest achievements in the history of humanity has been the recognition of geometrical forms in the nature. I think it was the beginning of architecture, using those forms in favor of man.
One of the earliest known architectural advances is Stonehenge, although nobody knows by whom it was done. Stonehenge is basically a circular setting of large standing stones; it is located at the centre of a complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England. It was built between 2800 and 1500 BC to be a temple to the sun or simply an astronomical calendar; in 1986 it was added to the Unesco´s list of world heritage sites.
Man has always changed the point of view through the history, but definitely one of the achievements that have demonstrated the desire of man to advance and always go beyond the limits is Stonehenge, it is not only an advance, it is simply a wonder!
